Celebrate this introductory pricing with me! In April 2024 I became a C-IATY, a Certified Yoga Therapist. I have completed over 1,000 hours with a 170 hour Practicum Experience as part of my three year training experience.
Are you seeking wellness for your body, mind and spirit but have not found your healing needs with traditional western medicine or therapies? Yoga Therapy may be a good match for you.
The point of yoga therapy is to reduce patients’ suffering, to develop a practice for them without aggravating their condition, and to build confidence that they can improve their condition through their own actions. But this is not a substitute for medical or mental health attention, especially in the case of more serious or acute conditions.
It’s also important to point out that the best yoga therapy takes place one-on-one. Everybody’s symptoms are unique, and the prescription must be unique if you’re going to do effective work. As a yoga therapist, I help patients develop a practice that they can do on their own.
How & Why does Yoga Therapy Work?
The therapeutic benefits of Yoga are grounded in research to reduce blood pressure, slow the heart rate, decrease the stress hormones, and release feel good chemicals in the brain. The goal is not to “fix” the client, but bring the body, mind, and heart to a state of homeostasis, a calm, as we say in Yoga, sattvic, state of being to accept life as it is. The strategies used target not just the physical body, but the body’s more subtle energy. Yoga Therapies work to address the energetic body that is contained by the physical body. Moving this energy can happen in many ways; which is why a single Yoga Therapy Session may or may not include physical body movements.
A unique mix of practices based on the client’s needs and lifestyle, are crafted to individualize a toolbox of strategies that are ever-changing as the client’s human experiences evolve.
Some of these practices may include:
Guided Meditation
Yoga Nidra
Sound Therapy
Breath Practices/Pranayam
Meditation Techniques
Gentle Dynamic Movements
Yoga Poses/Asana
Mindfulness Techniques
NADA/Ear Acupuncture
A Package includes a 90 min intake session largely designed gather information to and customize a plan for you, and three follow-up sessions.
